Change. It’s something we often resist (cringe).. even when we know it’s coming. It’s uncomfortable, unpredictable, and sometimes even frustrating. But here’s the truth: without change, there is no growth.

Just as nature itself must evolve to flourish, so must we — in life, in business, and in leadership.

Nature’s Reminder that Transformation is Required for Growth

Think about a caterpillar. For a time, it crawls, limited by its form. Then comes the cocoon (a dark, still, and seemingly uncomfortable phase). Yet inside that stillness, transformation happens. When the butterfly emerges, it is unrecognizable from its old self... freer, lighter, and capable of soaring. A seed must be buried in the dirt before it grows into a tree. The ocean tides must shift constantly to sustain life. The seasons must change to bring balance and renewal to the earth. In every corner of nature, growth requires change. And so it does in our lives and businesses too.

PROOF that Change in Business Leads to Longevity

Some of the most successful companies in history are those that had the courage to adapt, even when it meant stepping into the unknown. Which most of you may be feeling now with the New Compensation Plan launched by Lifewave. It is scary, you don't understand it quite yet.

  • Apple once focused on computers only. Their bold pivot to mobile devices and digital services transformed them into a global icon.

  • Netflix began by mailing DVDs. They embraced the future of streaming before the world was ready and became the leader of an entire industry.

  • Amazon started as an online bookstore. Today, they lead in retail, cloud computing, and innovation, all because they leaned into change instead of resisting it.

These companies didn’t succeed because they avoided disruption, they succeeded because they embraced it early. Embracing change is crucial. Especially when you are leading people in a space of innovation, which is what we as leaders are doing!

Change in Our Business: Compensation Plan 2.0

Right now, we are experiencing our own “change” moment. The new compensation plan might feel overwhelming, confusing, or even uncomfortable right now, and that’s okay. Every great transition starts that way.

Nothing new is perfect immediately. Just like any system, it will take time to understand, adapt, and optimize. But the purpose behind this change is clear: to create something more sustainable, more rewarding, and more duplicable for long-term success. Sometimes, we take a few steps back to gain the momentum to move miles ahead. This is one of those moments.

Growth Mindset & Our Opportunity to Evolve

If we can reframe change as opportunity — rather than loss — we begin to see what’s really possible. Remember what I spoke about at the Lifewave conference in Anaheim: reframing fear to opporunity. Same thing here... reframe change to opportunity. Train your brain to see it this way because change tests us, strengthens us, and ultimately prepares us for the next level.

Let’s face it, leadership isn’t about comfort. It’s about courage. Courage to trust the process. Courage to adapt before others do. Courage to grow even when it’s messy. Courage to embrace and encourage your team to do so also. Be the leader your team needs you to be.

Just like the butterfly, our team and our business are in the cocoon phase right now... evolving and preparing for what’s next. And when we emerge, we’ll be stronger, more aligned, and ready to soar higher than ever before. But to do this YOU must be the leader of change.
